Even as the dice indicate whether an action succeeds or fails, they determine if the character gains any Advantages or suffers any Threats as the result of the attempt. However, the situations of SWRPG are rarely simple, and the game’s custom dice do more than determine whether an action succeeds or fails. Age of Rebellion is all about being a member of the Rebel Alliance and fighting against the Empire. If your character’s successes outnumber his failures, the action succeeds. Edge of the Empire focuses on life in the Outer Rim of the galaxy, and allows players to be a variety of fringe-type characters such as bounty hunters, smugglers, and colonists (Imagine Firefly with a Star Wars backdrop). Negative dice represent the forces that would hinder or disrupt him, such as the inherent difficulty of the task, obstacles, or the efforts of another character to thwart the task. These dice may reflect his innate abilities, training, or other advantages that he can apply to the specific task. What makes Rebellion so good is that it’s more than just a game about starship combat - although that element is certainly excellent enough. Positive dice help your character accomplish a task or achieve beneficial side effects. Essentially, the Empire wins if they wipe out the Rebel forces, whilst the Rebels win if they survive long enough to successfully inspire the galaxy to full revolt. ![]() Halve the credit cost to add mods to attachments), Fine Tuning ( When repairing system strain on a starship or vehicle, repair 1 additional system strain per rank of Fine Tuning), Solid Repairs 2 ( When repairing hull trauma on a starship or vehicle, repair 1 additional hull trauma per rank of Solid Repairs).Whenever you roll a skill check, you compare a pool of positive dice ( ⬟ ■ ▲ ) and their results against the results of a pool of negative dice ( ⬟ ■ ▲ ). I also gave him a blaster rifle, as he doesn’t have his bowcaster yet. It’s his skills and talents that make him stand out. I didn’t end up bumping up his Stats, as Chewie doesn’t seem to be any stronger or smarter than any other Wookiee. I gave Chewie a total of 20 extra XP, just like Han. I still stuck with Obligation for him, as Solo showed that everyone’s got an obligation to someone, and fits right into the style of game you’d be playing with these characters. Wookiees come from the EotE core book, while the Engineer/Mechanic comes from the AoR core book. Here in designing Chewie, I had to grab from both Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion.
